WASTE CONNECTIONS ANNOUNCES REGULAR QUARTERLY CASH DIVIDEND

FOLSOM, CA, January 28, 2011 - Waste Connections, Inc. (NYSE: WCN) today announced that its Board of Directors has approved a regular quarterly cash dividend of $0.075 per share on the company's common stock.  The dividend will be paid on March 1, 2011, to stockholders of record on the close of business on February 22, 2011.  The Board intends to review the quarterly dividend each October, with a long-term objective of increasing the amount of the dividend.
